Just thinking about what would bring people back into the game?

Would it be a new expansion, fixing of bugs, or what?

In my case there is nothing. SOE has proven to me to be liars and a lot of things I refuse to say.

What they could have done was not screwed over the vets.

Simple.

Instead of calling it Starwars Empire Divided. Change the title screen to Knights of the Old Republic. Then you won't have people complaining.

If you aren't going to go that route..

-Fix the specials -now- not later...not over a series of publishes. Fix them now. The NGE has been out for over 4 months, having broken professions when you only have 9 is unacceptable.

-Stop listening to the people on the forums, they are morons. As a matter of fact, don't listen to me. Make a good game, test it to fix the bugs, balance it. Then leave it the fuck alone. Just because people suck and are too retarded to figure out how the game works, doesn't mean the profession is underpowered, it just means they can't play the game.

-If you are having a bright idea about an expansion or some other new crap. Slap yourself in the face. Realize that people aren't leaving because you aren't adding new crap, its because the crap you have doesn't work or doesn't make sense.

-Make the GCW worth fighting again. Make it so that if the rebels have control of a city, any Imperial that steps into the city automatically goes Spec Forces. That'll light a fire under some of these pussies asses. If people start whinning "Waa waa...but I can't go into theed because I keep getting shot by the rebels" simply respond "Well if you didn't want to kill rebels, then why are you an imperial?"

-Make rank -only- achieved through pvp. And give better faction perks maybe elite weapons or modded weapons that can only be purchased at certain ranks.

-Come up with Space content. After all space is the only thing these clowns really did right, but there is nothing to do once you master other then cruise around deep space looking for people to kill who aren't there. Make it so Stardestroyers occupy certain space zones and chase/kill rebels that come near it

-The jedi...for christs sake...I know you can't get rid of them...but for crying out loud. They are still making the game unplayable, there is no reason to be a medic if a jedi can self heal and buff itself, or a spy if jedi can force cloak, or an officer if they can use their spin attack as an AoE. Not to mention their armor is "clothes" so Rp'rs can waddle around and play that "i'm not wearing armor crap." Other classes have their strong points, but you've turned the jedi class into a "jack of all trades" so of course people are going to be jedi. If you are a jedi and about to bitch about what I'm saying then you are probably part of the problem. If you think you are a jedi and you think your class is still to weak, then learn how to play because you suck and just don't know it. Oh yeah, allowing jedi to be able to break any snare or root, with their force run is idiotic.

-Last but not least, Play your own damn game. Anyone who plays the game for ten minutes can figure out all the crap that is broken. I remember sliding out of a damn chair for over a year. Small stuff like that, unacceptable. When the boss walks in and says "Yeah...i played the game and noticed i kept sliding out of my chair and shooting across the floor, what will it take to fix that?" if someone responded with "a year, sir" I'd laugh, then fire them and find someone that is more "motivated" to fix it. I don't know shit about computers, and I can't -stand- computer programmers or dealing with them, I rank them in the same tier as lawyers and reporters. But I do know that there are -thousands- of unemployed Computer geeks, that would want their job. If it takes canning some people in order to get shit fixed promptly then too bad so sad. And if you are spending your time fixing existing shit instead more crappy half assed expansions, you might actually get somewhere. Of course that all goes back to making a good product before releasing it.

Will any of the above mentioned -ever- happen, probably not. Maybe some, but not the really important stuff that needs to happen. I think the NGE is a great game system, but I can't think of a worse way for them to execute it. The released it with professions completely broken and several (bounty hunter/commando) unusable. And then tell everyone to stick with it and things will be worked out.

Thats like me flying a plane and saying "Okay folks this is your captain speaking, I know you already paid your tickets and are buckled in, but we just had some new engines installed. I'm pretty sure at least two of them work, but don't worry we had some guys looking into the other two and we'll work it out once we take off. Hope you enjoy the flight"

They really must love their stuff so much to try to force more BS down our throats.

Keep the NGE like it is and add in specialization for professions. Allow specialization points that can be used to add skills to your character. Example (I'll use Spy because I'm most familiar with it).

Master Spy - stays as it is now.

Assassin Specialization - Gives the Spy profession some new special attacks geared around one on one encounters and localization of damage attacks. ie: Assassin
Recon Specialization - Increases the spy's ability to go unnoticed with enemy territory and has the ability to communicate through more than one group. (A spy would be able to have a special channel set up as a skill to communicate with 2 to 4 group leaders for coordination of recon information).
Tracker Specialization - This would allow a Spy to be able to help a BH track his mark.
Sabatuer - this career path would be part of the new GCW. It would give a spy the ability to cause damage to GCW structures and vehicles.

Anyway, that's just off the top of my head. The idea is that each of those sub sets of skills would cost points, those points could be tied to how well your home world (where you have residence at) is doing in the GCW or it could be tied to your PVP points from the oposite faction. (again, safeguards would have to be in place to ensure that there was no fight clubbing or anything of that nature going on. ). Obviously each profession would have the ability to specialize in an area. You can always drop a specialization and pick a different one out at the cost of points.
